Policies & Fees
Policies & Fees
To schedule an initial appointment, you may contact me or one of the members of my team by phone call at (415) 967-3447 or via the Contact Form.
Fees & Length of Sessions
You will be expected to pay for each session at the time it is held or, if you prefer, you may pay in advance. Please contact me to discuss fees.
I recommend an initial couples counseling session of 90 minutes, but this is not required. Subsequent sessions are typically 60 minutes for couples.
Individual sessions are typically 60 minutes.
FYI, I don’t do the typical 50 minute therapist hour . You get the full 60 minutes of face time. I never understood why someone would pay for an hour session and only get 50 minutes of the therapists face-to-face time.
My goal, I imagine, is the same as yours – to get you to a place you no longer need my services as soon as possible!
Reduced Fee/Referrals if I am full
Do not hesitate to reach out to us. If we can provide reduced fee services we will. Also please note members of the team provide counseling at lower price points then me and they are all much nicer than me too!
I realize it is really hard to reach out for assistance, so if you call, fill out my contact form or email we will get back to you. Feel free to poke us again and remind us of our tardiness/our commitment to respond per these words!
Cash or check for the first session. Cash, check, debit cards and credit cards accepted for subsequent sessions. It is not ethical to accept payment in a year long supply of strawberry rhubarb pie, so unfortunately for me that option is off the table.
If you need to cancel or rearrange an appointment, you are required to provide 48 hour advance notice. Otherwise, you will be charged for the full session. I always let the first one slide…shhhh, dont telll anyone).
Legal and ethical responsibilities require that private sessions remain confidential. Therefore, no information will be released to another professional or agency without your written consent. Exceptions will be made only if you endanger, or may endanger, yourself or others, and/or in the case of child abuse or elder abuse. In these cases the law requires your therapist to share certain information with specific outside parties.
I am available by telephone should a situation arise that cannot wait until your next scheduled appointment. In such cases, please leave a message on my voicemail indicating the nature of the situation, and I will return your call as soon as possible. If you are experiencing an emergency and need immediate assistance, please call 911.
